Wide array of standard and custom high-speed, high-density cable assembly products. Coax, twinax, twisted pair, and controlled impedance ribbon cables are used to create tailored interconnect solutions to high-speed, high-density applications.

Amphenol InterCon's high-speed, high-density cable assembly systems are engineered to allow miniaturization and speed, without compromising ruggedness and reliability. Cable systems are developed and manufactured using a wide variety of different connector types, from InterCon50™ and InterCon1mm™ pin and socket connectors to numerous others from across the industry. We use a broad array of high-speed cable and wire types, including controlled impedance ribbon cable, coax, twinax, and twisted pair. Amphenol InterCon engineering works from customer specifications to determine the most effective cable or wire for particular applications.

Full simulation capabilities are available, from impedance, crosstalk, and skew modeling through full spice modeling of assemblies. For completed assemblies, extensive electrical test capabilities are available. Microprocessor-based signature testers are used for total production testing of all completed assemblies. A variety of high-speed analysis capabilities are also available for design verification and production qualification.

We use mass termination processes to achieve low assembly cost and high production capacity. For assembly ruggedness and reliability, both overmolded and two-piece riveted strain relief systems are available. Both protect the integrity of termination between cable and connector, which is particularly critical in high-density assemblies.

InterCon50™ and InterCon1mm™ cable assemblies can be designed to mate to boards in either right angle or in-line configurations, as part of their standard product families. Latch/ejector features can be added to these standard products, to enhance system reliability and ruggedness. Standard connector sizes from 2 x 5 through 2 x 50 positions are available.
